詳細	ヒュームと18世紀ブリテンの哲学史を研究し、現在、18世紀の政治思想史の再検討に取り組んでいるジェームズ・ハリス教授（Prof. James Harris, University of St Andrews)の講演会を開催いたします。ロックの政治思想をフィルマーとの関連から、あらためて見直します。 ジェームズ・ハリス教授講演会 日時：6月20日（水曜）4時半から 場所：学習院大学北2号館（文学部研究棟）10階大会議室 論題：　‘Locke versus Filmer Revisited’　 　　　　　「再考：ロック対フィルマー」 主催：学習院大学人文科学研究所 どなたでも参加できます。入場無料です。講演は英語でなされますが、主要論点を日本語で通訳いたします。講演で読まれるペーパーの要旨は以下の通りです。 James Harris, ‘Locke versus Filmer revisited’ I argue that Filmer’s political thought is as important to understanding the publication of the Two Treatises as it is to understanding the work’s initial composition. I show that in the First Treatise Locke focuses on the de facto aspect of Filmer’s theory of political obligation. De facto theory was prominent in English political debate after the Glorious Revolution. I draw attention to ways in which in the Second Treatise Locke seeks to moderate the consequences of the doctrine of natural liberty, thereby addressing Filmerian worries about that doctrine being productive of sedition and instability.
